Farmer Ryan™ Spills 7 Secrets to
Oklahoma's HEMP Advantage

Farmer Ryan™ is the Heir to the Oklahoma Industrial Hemp Industry

Farmer Ryan has built upon the story of how Hemp cultivation began in the United States. Our forefathers were Hemp farmers and built much of this country utilizing a single plant found around the world dating as far back as the earliest signs of civilization. It was a common part of our daily life everywhere you looked, all the way up to the passage of the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937.

Hemp was a multipurpose plant being used for ropes, clothing, building materials and much more. Most of the hemp used prior to 1937 was cultivated in the Midwest. During World War II, the U.S. produced a short 1942 film titled Hemp for Victory, promoting hemp as a necessary crop to win the war. U.S. farmers participated in the campaign to increase U.S. hemp production to 36,000 acres in 1942. This increase amounted to more than 20 times the production in 1941 before the war effort.

It didn’t take long before Executive Order 12919 (1994) identified hemp as a strategic national product that should be stockpiled.

Farmer Ryan’s research all started with his vision of bringing this cash crop back to benefit farm families, communities, consumers and our country; here are 7 reasons why Oklahoma was his choice in preferred research introducing the Midwest Microbiome Genomics Repository™  to the world.

#1 Setting tomorrow's standards today

With our world going “green”, Farmer Ryan jumpstarted Oklahoma Hemp culture early in 2016 by opening Can-Tek Labs™ and registering his facility with the FDA.  This allowed him to produce and manufacture Hemp products first as a new era pioneer in the state.  His efforts in education spread to all four corners of Oklahoma knowing the world needed regulations and trusting patrons who were informed about how the Hemp industry would evolve. Early started backwards with his seed-to-sale company, Hempyre Genetics, building on the information he provided and people's trust in his ability to develop a science-based path for Hemp in Oklahoma.  After much work and overcoming setbacks along the way, the day came when Farmer Ryan was able to expand his research and give the world a clear vision of what Tracked, Tested and Trusted™ products truly are.

#2 "Sowing the Seeds of the Past, to Grow a Brighter Future for Everyone"

Seeds of the past? Yes! Ryan Early, as one of the co-authors of HB2913 in Oklahoma and a history buff, was not only excited but passionate about the wild hemp growing across the microclimates of Oklahoma. He knew it came from the efforts of Hemp for Victory which was eliminated for political reasons during the “Reefer Madness” era. Farmer Ryan was passionate about the World War II-era program benefiting America’s farmers and our economy, helping every person in one way or another. With Oklahoma paving the way - the legislative breakthrough came in the form of the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill which opened the door to the normalization of the Hemp industry as a dynamic and legitimate new economic frontier. Today, Oklahoma is being hailed as the HEMP/Cannabis Capital of America with its State Medical Marijuana program which has enjoyed high participation and low cost to patients.

#3 “Tracked + Tested = Trusted”™

Simply growing Hemp plants is not enough.  Farmer Ryan needed to find a way to provide growers and consumers with confidence that they were getting what they paid for.  So began the search for proven genetics that could be tracked and tested to cultivate crops that yield a consistent, trusted product in the Lost Hemp Fields of Oklahoma.    Oklahoman’s intently watched Farmer Ryan on his Landrace Hemp Hunts (the term “Landrace” and “Landrace Genetics” refers to those plants that have adapted and continue to grow as native species in the widely varied microclimates of Oklahoma) and as the television news crews followed him on his journey to track down these plants with exciting evolutionary genetic adaptations.  As each variety of Landrace Hemp was discovered, it was collected, cultivated and tested in controlled environments to discover the potential of each plant. Farmer Ryan took no shortcuts.  He spent months growing and testing the recovered Hemp plants, which led to picking the appropriate strains to produce the most yield for farmers in any climate. He also documented and studied the climate where each plant was growing at the time he found it. Each chosen hemp plant was subjected to rigorous stress testing to develop the appropriate SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) to gain even more success for our farmers within the research program. The process was costly and never simple, but Farmer Ryan and his team succeeded beyond his most optimistic expectations.

#4 “Keeping Your Pets on the Path to Wellness™

When Oklahoma’s SB238 leaders needed advice on the structure of regulations for Oklahoma's CBD product sales, they chose Farmer Ryan because of his widely recognized expertise. This allowed CBD to be sold without a license, giving easy access to consumers wanting to try these newly introduced oils. It also created the law which defines Hemp in Oklahoma as containing less than 0.3% total THC (equal to the 2018 US Farm Bill). This led Early to specify the best 10 hemp plants and the environments required to keep them USDA compliant. Today, Farmer Ryan’s seed bank of unique prefered varietals numbers in the hundreds as he continues his research and the seed bank continues to grow. Another benefit of Oklahoma’s SB238? This Bill also allowed CBD from Hemp to be used to enhance pet products sold in Oklahoma, so our beloved pets can also enjoy the many advantages of CBD products.

#5 “Plants Love it, Pests Hate it!™

Oklahoma is known to be a region of many pests which wreak havoc on our farmers and their crops.  Some of these pests also attack our pets and impact their overall health. Some of the pests include Detrimental Fungus, Mosquitoes, White Flies, Spider Mites, and the list goes on and on.  It’s enough to make a farmer's head spin, not to mention what happens if you are bitten by one of these pests.

In a world of “duct tape and zip tie” tricks to save money when a problem arises, we are finding this has led struggling farmers to overload their plants with pesticides and fungicides. These traditional pesticides and fungicides are harmful to not only Hemp but all the foods we are eating. Many farm families are just trying to survive or are having to leave a way of life they have pursued successfully for generations.  Farmer Ryan grew up in Choctaw, Oklahoma and this “country kid” put Oklahoma on the map with his groundbreaking legislation and his patented BiomeMax Technology™  discovered while finding a Landrace plant that was not affected by the usual pests.  The plant had evolved natural defenses while unattended in the wild.  This miracle plant was thriving, with no signs of harm from the usual army of pests. The resulting technology is now being used and researched by farmers across the country and is now finding its way into international markets. Yes, it all started with Farmer Ryan’s Oklahoma Hemp research. Simplifying farm labor and cost and making a significant impact on, not just Hemp, but also oranges, grapes, grass sod, lawn treatment, and home and garden pest prevention. And this is just the beginning.

#6 Making a Simple but Significant Impact with BiomeMax™ Technology

With the high Humidity required to grow Hemp and other plants, the naturally high humidity found in much of Oklahoma makes this State ideal for studies on ecologically safe fungicides. Farmer Ryan discovered White Powdery Mildew to be a common fungus that regularly and mercilessly attacked his crops. With thousands upon thousands of dollars spent on only the safest pest remediation products on the market, Farmer Ryan knew his research had to expand from genetics to eco-safe™ programs for pest management and diseases such as White Powdery Mildew. And this quest for a better, more effective product is how Ryan’s brainchild, Blue Magic™, was discovered. Through this research program and the use of Blue Magic, plant cultivators everywhere, from farms to home gardens, have been able to defend their plants before the detrimental effects of invasive pests and disease set in.

From Farms to Barns, to backyards, the demand has grown exponentially and the product has been approved as an EPA-exempt pesticide. Starting with Oklahoma, Blue Magic™ has been registered in state after state, making it the first natural pesticide on the label and registered as safe for use on Hemp.  You know it’s Farmer Ryan approved by the distinctive hemp leaf proudly presented on the label along with the trademark “Patented Biomax Technology™”. The powerful sesquiterpene complex used as the secret ingredient in this new discovery has resulted in a worldwide patent filing and a new patent category because of Farmer Ryan’s efforts. What's next? I would think this economical eco-friendly product may just bring the world some relief from the many challenges farmers and consumers face today as they seek an alternative to harsh pesticides which threaten the environment and our family’s health.

“Blue Green Ventures, Inc. is the only company using unique Heritage Hemp Landrace Genetics™️” -Farmer Ryan

Blue Green Ventures is the only company in the world using unique, naturally evolved Heritage Hemp Genetics™  ️ discovered in the "Lost Hemp Fields of Oklahoma"™️. These varietals of Industrial Hemp were mostly brought to the US and more specifically, Oklahoma as part of a Government-run research and development program ahead of the looming 2nd World War. Cultivars from all over the world were covertly collected and brought to Oklahoma due to its diverse range of Microclimates as well as its large Native American farming community, many of whom had been cultivating Industrial Hemp since the beginning of time for its many uses. Upon completing the research in 1941, the US government made its selections and launched the "Hemp For Victory" campaign in 1942. This would pave the way for Farmer Ryan and his team of agricultural scientists, engineers and ecologists to embark on what would be a massive undertaking.

#7 "Project Hemp for Victory '' was founded in early 2018 in strategic partnership with Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Early’s company, Hempyre Genetics, LLC. With the passage of Oklahoma HB2913, which Farmer Ryan helped craft because of his widely recognized expertise in the field, the Oklahoma Industrial Hemp Pilot Program came to life. With the news of his research program getting underway, the phone calls and emails began pouring in from farmers reaching out to learn more and, if possible, contribute to Early’s effort. Early and his team collected over 100 Landrace varietals from every corner of the state and immediately began collecting data and categorizing each one into 3 main categories.

1)Fiber and Textiles 2)Food and medicine 3)Ecological Impact

As Farmer Ryan recalls the beginning of his research, he and his team were collecting various samples of Landrace Hemp growing along the roadside and on the back fence lines of farmer’s fields from one corner of our state to the other. Farmer Ryan remembers, “on a roadside in Northern Oklahoma, we identified one that stood out immediately from all the others. Showing no signs of pest pressure or nutrient deficiency, it was a perfect plant in a very intolerable climate. How could this be? I had to know more and began researching this specimen in an attempt to identify what could be making this Unique plant remain so viable in the wild!

Oklahoma's broad range of climate makes it extremely hospitable for many species of devastating insects and detrimental pests to plants, so why is this one so special? As he began his research indoors in an environmentally controlled space he began seeing common problems such as White Powdery Mildew, a very common pest in many parts of the world. It appeared every selected varietal was being affected by this fungus, except one. Farmer Ryan’s “Golden Child” remained free from any signs of Golovinomyces Orontii otherwise known as White Powdery Mildew, and he knew right then that miracle plant was something special! But what in the world could give this single plant the ability to resist such an invasive, globally common pest? As he continued his studies, Farmer Ryan inoculated several species of plants with many different pests such as Spider Mites, Russet Mites, Thrips, Aphids, and White Flys. And while the pest devoured and colonized all the other plants, still one remains unaffected!

Now the research was getting exciting! How was this possible? Could Early really have discovered a plant capable of producing its pest repellant naturally?  It was time to find out.  Time to harvest the plant and see what made it tick.

Upon Analyzing the plant’s chemical makeup, 6 unique Sesquiterpenes were identified in sequence. This very rare Biochemical sequence is seen replicated in nature time and time again in the form of a phenomenal excretion by many insects. This natural chemical warning sign tells preditors to flee the area as danger and death is present. To predatory insects such as Ladybugs, Praying Mantis and beneficial bugs who will help rid the plant of unwanted pests, it is an attractant of sorts calling them to the area in search of food. Additionally, this unique chemical complex has proven extremely effective as a Fungicide and Bactericide and is noted as having some Antiviral capabilities within the Human Microbiome.

As Early and his team continue their research into exciting new frontiers, they envision a world of Ecological Sustainability while reducing the carbon footprint and dramatically reducing damage to our ecosystem that chemical pesticides and fungicides have inflicted upon our precious Earth 🌎
